Best Energy Website to be Named by Web Marketing Association in 30th Annual WebAward Competition

The Web Marketing Association’s 30th WebAward Competition at www.webaward.org is calling for the globe’s finest Energy websites to be recognized. This benchmarking competition evaluates 86 industries, including Energy, on seven criteria for a successful website. The deadline for entries from Energy websites is May 29, 2026.

“In the energy sector, a company’s website has become a central platform for transparency, stakeholder communication, and long-term brand positioning,” remarked William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association. “Energy providers today must clearly communicate sustainability commitments, ESG performance, grid modernization initiatives, renewable investments, and regulatory compliance — all while serving customers who expect real-time account access, outage reporting tools, usage dashboards, and mobile responsiveness. As the industry navigates decarbonization goals, infrastructure transformation, and heightened public scrutiny, digital clarity and credibility are essential. The WebAward Competition provides energy companies and their development partners with an objective evaluation against industry benchmarks, along with the high-visibility distinction of being recognized as an ‘Award-Winning Website.’ That recognition strengthens stakeholder confidence, enhances search presence, attracts investors and partners, and validates leadership in innovation and responsible energy advancement.”

The assessment of websites involves seven criteria: design, innovation, content, technological advancement, interactivity, copywriting, and simplicity of navigation. Each submission in the Energy division is compared to others in its category and to a global excellence benchmark.

Each Energy entry benefits from insightful feedback detailing their scores versus industry averages. They are also eligible to receive individualized comments on their web development from the WebAward’s professional judging team.

Winners of a WebAward in the Energy category will also receive:

  • Increased visibility for their company
  • Marketing opportunity to promote the company website to the media
  • Links to your site from the highly ranked WebAward site to help SEO
  • Social media posts for your company and personal feeds
  • A highlight for your resume.
  • Admiration of peers, friends and co-workers
  • Unlimited bragging rights

Each year the Web Marketing Association names the Best Energy Website based on the scores submitted by the competition judges.
