The Web Marketing Association is looking for the best publishing Websites in the world as part of their 30th annual international WebAward Competition for Web site development at the WebAward Web site. The WebAwards is the standards-defining competition that sets benchmarks for 86 industries, including publishing web sites, based on the seven criteria of a successful Web site. The deadline for publishing web sites to enter to be judged is May 29, 2026.
“In the publishing industry, a website is no longer just a catalog of titles — it is a dynamic platform for discovery, engagement, and direct-to-reader connection,” declared William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association. “Publishers today must integrate e-commerce, audiobook and eBook distribution, author branding, event promotion, subscription models, community building, and data-driven marketing strategies into cohesive digital experiences. With readers discovering books through search, social media, newsletters, and influencer channels, websites must be optimized for visibility, accessibility, and seamless purchasing. In an increasingly competitive content marketplace, digital sophistication directly influences sales and loyalty. The WebAward Competition provides publishers and their development partners with an objective evaluation against industry benchmarks, along with the high-visibility distinction of being recognized as an ‘Award-Winning Website.’ That recognition enhances industry credibility, strengthens discoverability, attracts authors and partners, and validates excellence in connecting stories with audiences worldwide.”
Web sites are judged on seven criteria including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copy writing and ease of use. Each WebAward entry in the advertising category is judged against other advertising entries in its industry category and then against an overall standard of excellence.
