Top Awards up for Grabs at the 23rd Annual WebAwards

The Web Marketing Association will be naming Best of Show winners and the Top Agency as part of its 2019 WebAward Competition.

  • A “Best of Industry” WebAward will be given in each of the 96 industry categories, including financial services, medical, small business, travel, advertising, transportation and government.
  • The competition’s highest honor, the 2019 WebAward “Best of Show,” will be given to the one site that the judges believe represents the pinnacle of outstanding achievement in Web development.
  • The Web Marketing Association will also recognize the interactive agency winning the most awards in the competition with the “Top Interactive Agency” WebAward.

Web Marketing Association Announces the Winners of the 2019 Internet Advertising Competition Awards

The Web Marketing Association announces the winners of its annual Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards, an effort to honor excellence in online advertising and to recognize the individuals and organizations responsible for the best in Internet marketing. The IAC Awards are the first and only industry-based advertising award competition dedicated exclusively to online advertising. Top Agency Winners

The Web Marketing Association recognizes the agency that demonstrates consistent excellence in online advertising development by winning more IAC Awards than any of their peers in a single competition. Each entrant was awarded points based on the level of award for each award received. The agency with the most points is awarded the Top Agency Award.

Since 1997, the Web Marketing Association has worked to help define what it means to be the best website in a wide variety of industries.  Its 23rd annual international WebAward competition will evaluate 96 different industries and name a lucky few of Best of Industry WebAward winner.

Best Websites of 2019 To Be Recognized By Web Marketing Association

Excellence deserves recognitionThe Web Marketing Association is pleased to announce the call for entries for its 23rd annual international WebAward competition.  The WebAwards are the standards-defining competition that sets industry benchmarks based on the seven criteria of a successful Web site.  It recognizes the individual and team achievements of Web professionals in 96 industries all over the world who create and maintain outstanding Web sites.  The deadline for entry for the 2019 WebAwards is May 31, 2019.  A complete list of past winners and this year’s entry form can be found at www.webaward.org.

“Excellence deserves recognition and the WebAwards look into all aspects of website development, It’s not just a beauty contest for Websites,” said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association.  “Our expert judges evaluate the entire interactive experience and reward those sites that are best in their industry. The goal of the WebAwards is to both recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective Web sites on the Internet today and also provide valuable feedback to entrants on how their sites stack up against their peers and their industry’s standards of excellence.”

Websites are judged on seven criteria, including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copy writing and ease of use and receive a numeric score.  Each WebAward entry is judged against other entries in its industry category and then against an overall standard of excellence.  Entrants also benefit from receiving valuable feedback from the WebAwards professional judging panel on their Web site development efforts.

This year’s top awards will include:

A “Best of Industry” WebAward will be given in each of the 96 industry categories, including financial services, medical, small business, travel, advertising, transportation and government.

The competition’s highest honor, the 2019 WebAward “Best of Show,” will be given to the one site that the judges believe represents the pinnacle of outstanding achievement in Web development.  Last year’s Best of Show winner was is presented to Chris Curd Design Ltd for their outstanding work on Where Wise Men Fish.  The site was also recognized as Best Sports Website.

The Web Marketing Association will also recognize the interactive agency winning the most awards in the competition with the “Top Interactive Agency” WebAward. TopSpot Internet Marketing was named Top Agency at the 2018 WebAward Competition, , taking home 7 WebAwards last year. The Top Agency Award is given to recognize the consistently outstanding development going on at interactive firms.

The WebAward Top Agency award recognizes consistency of effort and is given to the interactive agency that wins the most WebAwards in a given year. All locations and offices of a specific agency will be consolidated for the purpose of determining the winner of this award. Each entrant will be awarded points based on the level of award for each award received. A Best of Show will be worth 10 points, Best of Industry 5 points and each Outstanding award 3 points and a Standard of Excellence 1 point. The agency with the most points will be awarded the Top Agency Award for 2019.

Each year, many agencies and some corporations win multiple awards and deserve additional recognition. This year, we will recognize each organization that wins 6 or more WebAwards with an Outstanding Interactive Developer trophy. In 2018, there were 13 agencies recognized with this prestigious award.

Interactive and advertising agencies that win a 2019 WebAward will automatically be included in the Award Winning Agency Database with a free premium listing.

Judging for the 2019 WebAwards will take place in June through August and winners will be announced in September.  Judges will consist of a select group of Internet professionals who have direct experience designing and managing Web sites,–including members of the media, interactive creative directors, site designers, content providers and webmasters – with an in-depth understanding of the current state-of-the-art in Web site development and technology. Best Mobile Web Sites and Best Mobile Apps of 2018 Announced

The Web Marketing Association is pleased to announce the winners its seventh annual international MobileWebAward competition.  This award program recognizes the individual and team achievements of Web professionals all over the world who create and maintain the best mobile Websites and the best mobile applications.  The complete list of winners for each of the 86 industries covered can be found at www.mobile-webaward.org.

“Use of smartphones and tablet computers continue to explode and companies are racing to have users connect and interact with them using mobile devices,” said William Rice, president of the Web Marketing Association.  “The goal of the MobileWebAwards is to both recognize the people and organizations responsible for developing some of the most effective mobile Web sites and mobile apps on the Internet.”

This year’s top awards include:

Milestone Internet Marketing won Best of Show Mobile Website for VIVE Hotel Waikiki. VIVE hotel Waikiki’s target audience is made up of leisure travelers, with heavy representation from Korea, Canada and Australia, and offer the very best value and location while still providing a stylish package.  Milestone created a “true” mobile first website design that includes design is based on user intent and task completion, simple, clear, and easy to use Calls to Action, intuitive forms designed for small screens and other state of the art features.

State Farm Insurance won Best of Show Mobile Application for State Farm Mobile App. By combining banking and insurance, the app takes on two of life’s biggest needs–and does it with simple ease. State Farm partnered with Y Media Labs to create a customer-centric design. The app lets customers deposit a check, pay their insurance bill, request roadside assistance, file and track claims, and much more. The app features many breakthrough innovations—like a photo damage estimator that lets drivers take a picture of their damaged vehicle which is then used to write an estimate; a claims chatbot to guide them through the claim filing process; proof of insurance cards available without even logging in; and a quoting process that allows for creative comparisons of policy options.

TMV Group was named Top Interactive Agency for the 2018 MobileWebAwards competition. They received 6 best of industry awards: Best Food Industry Mobile Website, Best Automobile Mobile Website, Best Mobile Mobile Website, Best Beverage Mobile Website, Best Retail Mobile Website and Best Beverage Mobile Website.

IAC Awards to Name Best Alexa Skills

The Web Marketing Association announces a new advertising medium has been added to the 17th annual Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards for Voice Skills or Actions. This marks the first time an international award program will judge the exploding use of voice assistants like Alexa skills or Google Actions in branding and advertising. The Competition Web site is located at www.iacaward.org and the deadline for entry is January 31, 2019.

“Consumer demand for Internet enabled voice devices continues to explode,” said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association.  “Brand marketers are recognizing this opportunity and are creating thousands of grand-breaking skills for Amazon Alexa and actions Google Assistant. There are now more than 50,000 Alexa skills alone, up from 1,000 back in June 2016. The IAC Awards will provide clients of interactive agencies and corporate marketing departments the third-party confirmation that their consumers are getting the best creative for their ad dollars.  Winning awards is a great way to demonstrate your creative potential.”

Alexa skills are third-party apps you can add to your Alexa account based on your needs and preferences. Google Assistant’s version of these apps are called Google Actions.

The Web Marketing Association judges will select the best social media campaigns in 86 industries as part of their 17th annual Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) Awards.
