About Chung Ying Theatre Company

Established in 1979, Chung Ying Theatre Company is a reputed theatre organisation financially supported by the Government of the HKSAR and a Venue Partner of Kwai Tsing Theatre, dedicating to promote dramatic arts and paying special effort on educational and outreach programmes. CYTC is one of the first local theatre companies introducing “Theatre-in-Education” to Hong Kong.
The “Jockey Club ‘Once Under the Lion Rock’ Oral History Theatre Programme” is 3-year project funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust.
Oral History stories from more than 200 elderly across 8 different districts in Hong Kong will be collected through the setting up of Oral History Theatre Group in each district.
These stories which are full of the Lion Rock Spirits of caring, perseverance and unity will be enacted through theatrical art by the elderly in form of school touring(2017-2019), community performance(2018-2019) and finale performance in theatre(2019-2020).
