WebAward Judge Profile: Scott Spaid

245TECH
Founder

Scott Spaid is an entrepreneur at heart and has navigated intense industry change since the dawn of the Internet. Scott has a passion for effective Internet marketing and providing tools that measure its effectiveness. The inventor of Prospector, a patented Inbound Marketing and Lead Tracking CRM, Scott has extensive experience leading development teams to create world-class web and mobile applications.

“I love delivering real value to our clients. There is nothing like that feeling you get when leaving a meeting knowing your client is happy with your work and will benefit from your solution.”

Scott’s experience in the communications industry started when he was a young man helping the family business publish a bi-monthly magazine. After that, he became interested in design and worked for a print publisher in Nashville for several years. In 1995, after straining his back and becoming immobilized for a week, Scott discovered the Internet and was hooked. The thinking went, “Hey, this is just like what I do now except without a printing press.” So, with a new Macintosh LC and a head full of ideas, Mediapulse, the very first web design shop in Knoxville, Tennessee, was born. Accounts included Regal Entertainment Group, Singer Sewing Machine Company, The Washington Post, DENSO, and The New York Blood Center, to name a few.

In 2010, Scott sold Mediapulse. After a few years of consulting and trying to learn how to golf, he started 245TECH, a software development company.

Originally from Los Angeles, Scott is a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, where he earned a BBA in Marketing.
