NGradio.gr – The New Generation of Radio in Greece NGradio.gr, the New Generation of Radio in Greece, was founded in 2008 by Haroula Nikolaidou, Anna-Maria Nikolaidou, Tassos Peroglou, Faia Steiner, Vassilia Peroglou, Isidore Pateros, Panos Spiridakos, Angelos Pateros, Foivos Piombinos, Maria Papaioannou and Chris Baldaris. The station was created with the vision of sharing their love for music and building meaningful connections with listeners across the globe through the power of radio. At its core, NGradio values freedom of opinion and authentic expression, always with respect towards its audience. Its mission has been to revive the spirit of “good old radio” while combining it with the possibilities of modern technology. Today, its studios are equipped with some of the most advanced broadcasting systems in Greece, offering state-of-the-art sound and image transmission. Radio producers also use high-tech PCs and tablets to interact live with listeners, creating a seamless, interactive experience. NGradio stands out as an “alternative” and “young-in-spirit” web radio station. It was among the pioneers in integrating visual broadcasting alongside audio, and it consistently ranks among the most listened-to online radio stations in Greece and internationally. Its cosmopolitan character is strengthened by the power of the internet and modern media, allowing Greeks everywhere in the world to tune in and feel at home. With more than 36 active radio producers and a presence across 40+ social media platforms, NGradio has cultivated a loyal community of listeners who follow and support its initiatives both online and offline. The station’s innovative spirit also led to external collaborations. In 2012, the show Special Music Express was broadcast for a year on RealFM 97.8 under the name The Angels of Real, every Saturday and Sunday at midnight. NGradio’s excellence in web development has been recognized globally. In 2015, the station was awarded the Best Web Radio in Europe and the Best Radio Website at the prestigious WebAwards, organized by the Web Marketing Association (WMA). Since then, it has continued to win WebAwards for Outstanding Achievement in Web Development every single year: 2016: Radio Standard of Excellence & Technology Standard of Excellence 2017: Best Radio Website & Technology Standard of Excellence 2018: Best Media Website 2019 – 2025: Best Radio Website (nine consecutive years) Beyond broadcasting, NGradio has maintained a strong philanthropic profile. Originally founded as a non-profit society, it later became a commercial station while continuing to dedicate part of its annual revenue to charitable causes. Each year, it supports families in need in Perama (Attica), elderly care homes, and other institutions requiring assistance - underscoring its commitment not only to entertainment, but also to community and compassion.
