Steve Plunkett is a veteran digital strategist and SEO Scientist who has contributed his expertise to the WebAward judging panel for over 20 years.

With a web career spanning three decades, he is a pioneer in the evolution of search and user experience, specializing in the intersection of human behavior and digital architecture.

Currently a Digital Leadership Consultant for Brands, Steve leverages extensive experience directing global digital marketing operations to drive organic growth and brand visibility.

He previously served as the Global SEO Head (Sr. VP Marketing) for a large multinational company doing business in 200 countries and 29 languages, where he was responsible for the content and performance of over 200 websites. His leadership has driven successful high-impact initiatives, including the relaunch of mobile platforms in over 30 countries to exceed corporate digital growth targets.

Steve’s unique approach to digital evaluation is informed by his multidisciplinary academic background, holding Bachelor of Science degrees in both Psychology and Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Tyler. This foundation allows him to analyze digital assets through the lenses of psychological relevance, user intent, and complex systemic architecture.

Throughout his career, Steve has overseen the strategy and execution of more than 5,000 websites, ranging from local small businesses to Fortune 50 global enterprises. He is a subject matter expert in AI-driven search (GEO/AEO), Online Reputation Management (ORM), and Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO).

In addition to his two decades with the WebAwards, he has served as a judge for the ADDYs and has held leadership roles including President of the East Texas Advertising Federation and National Privacy Advisor for the American Advertising Federation
