The redesign project was founded on the needs of our target audiences. Prior to launching the project, we launched a campus-wide discovery to gain a deeper understanding of the needs of our important audience segments: students (current and prospective), alumni, faculty, staff, donors and friends of the university. As a result we redesigned our homepage (which was formerly aimed at a broad audience) to meet the targeted needs of prospective students. Today our homepage provides a welcoming entry point for prospective students and their families.

Our new homepage consists of seasonally relevant content including feature stories and events, major exploration, student experience, campus news and important calls to action, such as “Plan your visit.” Our other audiences can quickly and easily access relevant content on desktop and mobile devices through deep linking, prominent site search and our streamlined navigation system.

Our new site is designed and developed to meet the diverse needs of our target audiences and all public-facing sites, from the largest of colleges to the smallest of departments, with a robust shared feature set and support for website administrators across campus.

From our new advanced modular content publishing tools based on WordPress to dynamic data, content and media take center stage as we endeavor to provide our audience with the most up-to-date, relevant information when they need it. All of this sits on top of our new robust, cloud-based infrastructure with built-in caching that ensures high performance worldwide no matter how much traffic the site receives.
