This 2010 Midterm Elections Your Vote Counts Transmission from the Future Viral Video viral video takes technology to the next level by leveraging Facebook integration to tap into user data with the user’s permission. The solution first does a FirstName lookup for the user and if the name is found the viral video actually speaks to the user, with actor Olivia Wilde actually breaking in with a mock transmission from the future saying “User FirstName…User FirstName…are you there? Can you hear me?”. The video then plays out with Olivia telling of the future state of the nation, blaming future chaos on the user’s lack of voting in the 2010 midterm elections. Her story features photos of the user pulled from Facebook as well as funny references to friends of the user by name. Olivia is then joined by actor Romany Malco who shows the user he’s wearing a locket containing a picture of the user as the great hope for our future. Users can then share the viral video with friends through Facebook to spread the word.
