The Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn recently opened its doors as the first hotel of its kind marketed as a kid-friendly resort and co-branded with Nickelodeon. In order to create awareness of the resort online, an impressive new website needed to be built and a comprehensive and aggressive online marketing program needed to be launched. The hotel needed a campaign so engaging and intriguing to children, the majority of their guests, that the children would ultimately proposition their parents to plan a trip to the kid-friendly resort. Therefore, popular cartoon characters, specific colors, & games were incorporated into this successful campaign that ran on www.goplayoutdoors.com. Marketing the Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn in the travel space as well as the parenting space was important to achieve the aforementioned goals. Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn wanted to provide an exciting, non-traditional experience for kids that were sent to the site via various online channels. The plan was that if kids enjoyed the advertisements and subsequent website, they would in turn ask their parents to take them on vacations to the hotel.
